Pre-Wedding celebrations of Kunal and Riya at Forest trails, Bhugaon, Pune, India.
3 Dec 2016, a cold wintry day with a gentle sunshine, the cool mist, whispering breeze at Forest Trails, Bhugaon near Pune. The serene surroundings of the resort was the venue of the pre-wedding celebrations of the stunning couple, Kunal and Riya. A glittering Mehendi ritual and the lavish Sangeet function was an event etched in the memories of the invitees.
The Mehendi ritual involves the decoration of the bride and her friends with traditional Mehendi paste by the trained Mehendi artists. The paste dries off and on washing the palms, feet, face, etc, reveals a stunning decoration which is the traditional hallmark of a soon to be bride. The soon to be bridegroom is smeared with Turmeric giving him a glowing skin befitting the wedding. The function was made even more exciting with the circulation of finger food to the guests to control their hunger while they waited for the Mehendi to dry.
The couple emerged in the evening for the now popular sangeet function. The couple was blessed by both their parents and elders assembled in the venue. The guests started arriving as the evening progressed and thus began the unforgettable musical evening. Both the bride and groom performed to contemporary Bollywood and Hollywood tunes. The assembled guests also were part of the dance celebrations. This was accompanied with mouth watering snacks and beverages to keep the guests satiated. It was a treat to the eyes to watch both young and old on the dance floor, dancing and swaying to the music and transported to a different world.
The highlight of the evening was the lavish buffet laid out for the guests. A vast array of dishes incorporating various food items, a wide collection of salads, breads, exciting live counters serving different cuisines, and the brilliant display of desserts completed the food counters.
It was in the late midnight when the festivities winded down which also marked the end of the couple’s bachelor status and the next day would be the beginning of wedding ceremony.
